Okay, I've completed a full marathon in 2005 and hiked the rim of the Grand Canyon in May of 2006, so now what? Well, its no rest for the weary...so I'm back on Team in Training's run team this summer. But I'm no fool, I'm training for a 1/2 marathon this time.

Bruce Lee Returns? Not!

Ever since the days of "Kung Fu" with faux Asian, David Carradine as "Grasshopper", I've been fascinated with the idea of flying through the air, kickin' butt. And watching Ralph Macchio doing the crane kept fueling the interest---wax on, wax off anybody? Who would've thought that years later, I still have Jackie Chan aspirations.

So, all this led me to an intro Krav Maga class yesterday---since Krav Maga is used by the Israeli Defense Forces, its good enough for me. It is quite a cardio workout, plus all the punching was a great stress reliever for me. My workout partner was a petite 38 year old woman who packs quite a punch. She has been taking Krav classes for about 6 months and its built her strength and confidence up.

No Wimps in Napa! East Bay Truly Rocks!

Rain, rain and more rain...that pretty much described the weather conditions at today's Napa Valley Marathon. Despite the soggy and cold weather, the East Bay rocked at Napa! I'm so proud of my "mentees", Lila, Sarah T., Andrina and Joanna. All crossed the finish line! Plus, our East Bay cheering section was the loudest and stayed out in the elements until all team members came in.

I'm sad to see the Winter season come to a close. Being a mentor has been hella cool! I'd highly recommend it---its been a very rewarding experience for me...and it helps to have wonderful "mentees"!

Go Team! See ya'll in the Summer at Nike!
