San Bruno Mountain
I've lived in the Bay Area since 1989 and I've never been to San Bruno Mountain until today with my Hike team. If you've never hiked SB Mtn., please take the time to do so, it's worth the trip. Our team had 3.5 hours to hike and having trained with TNT, I thought this would be a piece of cake. Man, was I humbled. Hiking poses a totally different physical challenge. Although I'm not running, the steady uphill climbing really worked those butt muscles. Plus I really had to maintain my balance on those descents on loose rocks.
The best part were the views of the bay and the SF skyline. Simply spectacular, plus the fact, it was finally sunny! Hiking can be a very solitary activity, especially at my snail's pace. Several times during the hike, I reflected on the fact at how lucky I am to be able to enjoy such a place with wonderful people.
